Dubai (UAE), October 17, 2021 - At the pavilion of the Republic of Serbia, at this year's World EXPO 2021 held in Dubai, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Serbia Office of Information Technologies and eGovernment and Oracle.
The establishment of this type of data region will enable the creation of a digital hub with the potential to offer Oracle Cloud Services to users in Serbia, through this part of Europe and beyond. Oracle’s advanced solutions, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, can help businesses in healthcare, retail, banking, and other industries use data for innovation, connect teams, and keep workloads secure as they scale and grow.
“The possibility of partnering with Oracle, one of the world's IT leaders, as a potential commercial user in the State Data Center in Kragujevac, confirms how the Government of the Republic of Serbia is driving digitalization, investing in the state-of-the-art infrastructure of data centers and human and technical resources. This is yet more proof of how good and reliable a partner Serbia is for foreign investments in the latest technologies, as well showing how Serbia, as an IT regional leader, is leading the entire region in the era of the fourth industrial revolution”, said the Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment Mihailo Jovanović, PhD.
Jovanović confirmed that the State Data Center in Kragujevac was built according to the highest technical and security standards to provide storage of data and equipment for public administration and commercial users, as well as to represent a significant infrastructural basis for the development of eGovernment in Serbia.
“Oracle recognizes the importance of the Republic of Serbia as a digital transformation hub and can see the value of the cloud region to take the citizens, businesses and customer experience to a new level with more technology efficiency and agility with the highest levels of security”, said Leopoldo Boado Lama, Senior Vice President Application Sales, Middle East, Africa & EECIS.
